I don’t know what hexbear is other than another Lemmy instance. But often the comments from hexbear users cause me to frown and get a little disappointed in humanity making me think about blocking hexbear but IDK, still feeling it out and seeing if I get used to it.
30·2 years agoWell, the USD is worth 15% less today than it was when the consoles launched. As such, keeping the price the same is the same as discounting it with a stable currency. The price today is the same as $425 at launch, so prices have come down we just don’t see it reflected in the dollar price.
You’re right. But they don’t want to hear it. Just like how most of the world believes in sky people and don’t want to face reality.
The world has been living on FIAT currency since WW1 when virtually every country left the Gold Standard. It’s been ingrained into everyone that deflation = bad, inflation = good. Yet at the same time every single financial advisor recommends dumping your savings into deflationary assets (houses, stocks, etc)… Okay. Makes sense to me.
I like how conservatives are depicted as the enemy of freedom in this meme. Pretty accurate.

I had the same issue you did so I signed up on another instance I liked and now I can browse even when .world is down.
