As a ND queer communist I have never felt more comfortable and welcome posting than on hexbear. Their mutual aid comm is highly active and an immensely helpful place for many people. It’s an adorable community, they get a bad rap by people that come in arguing in bad faith who then run away to shame the hateful ‘tankies’ on their main instance like this post here.

Hexbear is the only place online I’ve found that I feel most comfortable speaking my mind as a neurodivergent queer communist. People act like hexbear is some harsh authoritarian zone, it just simply doesn’t condone chauvinism, transphobia, or let people post western propaganda without it being questioned. Some people react poorly to the way they are responded to on hexbear when they post some bullshit that we’ve heard and debunked 1000 times already.

Supporting genocide seems like a pretty good redline to focus on though. When both candidates promise to maintain or increase the genocide, why does this sham of a democracy deserve to be supported? This electoral system and US imperialism doesn’t have to be endless, partaking in the process only serves to legitimize the horrors commited daily.
Last time Lebanon and Israel were at war Israel lost. Hezbollah is better armed and trained now, and Israel is more isolated than ever. Israel is bombing civilian areas now, using terrorism because they cannot effectively stop Hezbollah rockets from hitting targets in ‘Israel’. People of Lebanon support Hezbollah and actions against Israel, they aren’t being held hostage.
The ‘most progressive party’?? By what measure? Because they aren’t as openly fascist as the Republicans? Kamala has sworn to appoint at least one Republican, to be tough on crime, increase the strength of the military, be as or more anti-immigration than Trump, has shown no interest in healthcare reform, and refused to even consider ceasing the arming of genocidaires. What does it mean to be progressive to you?
I have the same trouble worrying about how much I’m bothering someone when describing some interest I am obsessing on, more people have similar stuff in their heads than you might realize though! I have found comfort in circles that are happy not to be ‘normal’ through art/music and other interests.
Everyone has weird aspects, some people just fit in better than others, but I don’t think there is anything wrong with being different. But I agree, it can be lonely, maybe you just haven’t found the right friends yet? Anyway though, I feel for you and hope it gets less lonely.
I saw a Zionist make a post saying something like “why would Hamas have captives unless they are intending to torture and sexually abuse them?”, like that was just the logical treatment of POWs.
I definitely feel sadness about this whole sort of thing, but knowing that the person they are accusing of “beating up women” is a cis woman herself, it gives me some hope that the haters will be shamed by most regular people for being so goddamn ignorant and hateful like usual. It doesn’t appear to me that most people care much about this stuff, so it doesn’t help the reactionaries recruit much, though a fervent minority can cause a lot of damage.

The part that gives me the most thought about it being planned was his response, he gets up and raises his fist? His security doesn’t hold his head below cover and he just chills on stage for the photo op? If he was unexpectedly shot you’d think he would just be crying and shidding himself, maybe they are just poorly trained
