Yeah seems like ignorance or maybe he got so held up on trying to make the best decision possible that he got into decision paralysis. It happens to all of us at some point. But fucking 10 years. At least the money is still there and hopefully this will get something rolling.
It’s all out there in the public filings. It’s not a matter of taxes, the issue is they haven’t made ANY charitable donations at all since 2014 despite publicly claiming they were. He may have not been aware of it for some time, but even after he said he discovered it he kept making public claims that his all the money was going to charities.
The money has just been sitting in an account paying administrative fees. The good news is most the money is still there and he has an opportunity to make it right.

I don’t know, this is something that might be cool. But I’m not spending any significant amount of money on a Google project the way they cancel them on a whim. Good luck to them though.
Stable volume will be very nice if it works. Always jarring and annoying when you get that youtuber that plays an intro with blaring music and bass and then follows it up practically whispering his content.

Might not be interesting to you, but it’s relevant to the topic. The real question is why don’t you just move on?
My theater still gives a better experience than what I get at home due to the bigger screen and sound system. That said the loud obnoxious ads they blast at you before the movie starts make going with friends rather pointless and the previews go on forever. It actually makes me angry every time since it costs me $20-30 to go to movie with concessions. So I am going to say no.
There is a drive in theater that is about an hour away I occasionally go to, but other than that I haven’t bothered in ages.
Add in sponsors that some ass holes throw 2-3 in a video (FU LTT) and I don’t know how people watch YouTube with ads. It sucks so bad.
I do pay for premium, but use smart tube on my android tv box and it feels so good when it rolls right past them.
Hopefully they figure something out. In the Verizon CDMA days changing phones SUCKED. Knowing Verizon, watch for bullshit service fees anytime you have to use their website to swap esims. Future ain’t necessarily bright.
Adam Conover just did a video on mega mergers and Ticketmaster was prominently featured. I thought it was pretty well done, but hope you like the guy because he takes his personality to 11 on this one.

This is REALLY cool and helpful. I just tried it with the 3 accounts I have and it worked flawlessly.
Only suggestion would be to have the app check a servers defederated list and disregard any communities that you cannot subscribe too. This would prevent a lot of errors that happen when going through the sync. This is pretty minor as the app does seem to skip the community after the error but I suspect it would be a little faster if it just rejectected the community via internal software. Some users who are not aware of defederated communities may get confused by the errors as well.
Maybe this isn’t very realistic? If it isn’t, never mind. :)

Well, to be fair they are counting streaming ad free versions against cable tvs ad ridden service. Not exactly apples to apples is it. I helped my brother move this weekend and they put Apollo 13 on for my mom to watch (on DIRECTTV Paramount channel). It was still on when we finished. Fucking unwatchable.
But yeah, streaming is starting to not look like such a bargain. And it’s going to get worse no doubt. But I quit cable, and I can quit streaming as well. Not sure I even need to pirate, plenty of other low cost entertainment options.
This is a pretty solid app, and I have no regrets purchasing this one.
Is there a reason apps that access file system are getting pushy about having notifications enabled though? I’ve seen it on a few different apps and solid explorer is especially annoying if you don’t enable notifications. It basically gives you 2 prompts urging you to enable notifications every time you move files. The file transfer works perfectly fine without the notifications from what I can see. This has caused me to use a lesser file management app in the meantime. I just don’t understand why a file manager HAS to have notifications I guess.

Agreed. Apples stance on privacy is more about PR and keeping ad competitors at a disadvantage on their platform than actual privacy. Only reason they might not fall in line is if they feel there is enough public opposition to it to get some PR and make Google look bad. Not too optimistic on that though since most people are oblivious to the issue.
Going from memory, people started posting the HD-DVD decryption key and Digg started removing all references to it to comply with take down orders.
There was a fair amount of controversy around it.
Kagi has been great. I’d like to see more searches on their $5 plan as 300 searches a month doesn’t feel adequate. It has been great being able to promote, demote, and block sites from searching and I have found my results to be more helpful and relevant than Google alternatives I tried. I don’t think I have used Google search at all since signing up. Highly recommend.
Fucking A. I hate using Googles shitty messaging app, and maybe I would have more than 2 other rcs users in my contacts if the 3rd parties could implement it.
