I don’t know, someone saying “we’re government agents” doesn’t really cut it, anyone can say that. Also I watched another video that didn’t have the subtitle, thanks for explaining, I didn’t know they verbally claimed to be agents.

Not just verbally. They show a badge. If we want to assume that anyone can flash a fake badge without consequences, fine. But in that case, the agency would have denounced it, which hasn’t happened so far. Ockham’s razor.

An agency denouncing something doesn’t help me if I’ve just been kidnapped and possibly killed though. There is so much about this that is totally fucked up. This is basically the absolute worst way to go about this.

A government agency denouncing that a television program has lied by claiming that two of its agents did what appears in the video would be the normal course of action if that had actually happened. But no, they didn’t do it.

By the way, the arrested person’s family has confirmed that she is being held by the government—not kidnapped or murdered.

I’m not talking about what we can determine here from the comfort of our devices, I’m talking about what a reasonable person might think in the moment and how that might cause them to respond.

My deepest apologies. I misunderstood you from the beginning then.

All good, it happens, I probably wasn’t clear. Let’s just hope the whole thing stops, clearly identified officers or not.

she is being held by the government not, kidnapped

Fixed that for you. A warrantless and indeed unwarranted “arrest” like this is extrajudicial by definition no matter who does it. This is Augusto Pinochet level repression of “undesirable” resisters of the ruling regime.
