Because the AI has to do the work of translating the image to text before deciding what to do with it

So start normalizing using ffmpeg to type in whatever you want to say, and render it as a video with just static text on white background to make it even more expensive?

Which is why the AI companies surreptitiously convinced gullible people that they had to transcribe all their memes, jokes, comics etc “to help near-sighted people and boost inclusiveness” or whatever and the daft cunts were so desperate to feel morally superior they fell for it hook, line and sinker

I sincerely hope you never go blind. Or you know what, I hope you have to deal with the inconveniences you’re trumpeting to let you feel how it really is.

Yeah, I think it’s the decent thing to do, ever since the early days of alt in html. I do hope it’s useful to humans, but it’s probably also true that AI is vacuuming it all up as well.

No, people just want to help out the vision impaired. Hail corporate, I guess?

This is my one “insane belief that I’m positive will be proven true in a few years” and I’m sticking to it.

        Everyone’s got one 😂

How many times have you seen a comment “Thanks for the transcript!”? I think I’ve seen one once

Blind folk aren’t reading memes, they’re listening to podcasts and audiobooks. Think about it. A transcribed meme isn’t funny in the slightest so what would be the point?

The ai companies got themselves a ton of free labour

I’m not going to say “die on this hill” because it’s more of a mountain but yeah
