  • I agree, one of my favorite games. Remake is surprisingly good coming from EA and this day and age although badly optimized and they stopped making patches for it really faat.

It works very well that Ishimura is freely explorable, and no place is truly safe even after you cleared it due to intensity director AI that basically makes your game harder and randomly turns out lights or spawns enemies if you’re doing too well.

  • I mostly hate AI but constantly try to find actual usecases for it past the hype.

I have made a VST audio effect plugin where I used AI as coding assistant, set up different local AI things, like fabric to get summaries from youtube videos, autogen where I have been testing AI agents, LM studio/Ollama local server etc.

I also use local AI to make instrumentals out of songs for singing practice (UVR).

These things said I’m still bit unimpressed with gen AI. Like sure as tech savvy person I find uses but don’t think any of those are particularly revolutionary as is claimed.

Why I’m on this community, like any other AI community is to follow any developments as I continue this search for actually good use cases. With many things I just don’t find AI reliable enough, or if it’s something I’m good at, I rather use my old non AI workflows.

  • Lol everyone probably fantasizes about such thing sometimes, but even if you weren’t caught, it’s not worth it to personally be bitter like that.

Just got laid off and could had done the same. Except I don’t have to. Internal systems are so bad and undocumented and I was like only IT specialist there who could use linux, and so many things related to core businesses were just basically behind me.

The kill switch has made it self. Funny how I would have written more documentation if I ever was given the time.

  • I’m man and one of my favorite type of stories are historical stories with women who defy the gender roles of their time. Also in general historical stories from perspective of someone else than white guys. I find them empowering even though they are not about my empowerment. Also I just find the stories more interesting than watching just another historical war movie with almost all men except main characters wife at home or smth.

Although there is this “girlboss” archetype I see in movies I really hate. Kind of one that feels like a committee wrote feminist character because it sells. Well we are likely to see less of those with all the anti DEI stuff, so I guess monkey paw wish came true.

  • Well maybe, micro work is really dehumanizing and cognitively rough. I hear some US inmates do work at McDonalds and if I had to choose between that and microwork, and if time I spent working was the same with both options, I would take the fastfood job any day. At least have done that before irl so I know what to expect.

I’m ADHD in IT job, and my mind would explode if work I did with computer was just unskilled datasorting job.

But I do know US inmates have basically slave conditions. But I read a book about microwork and it sounds like psychological torture to me. Like what they do in Severance.

(Work without worker is the book)
