These guys aren’t in some kind of parade or ceremonial display, nor do they appear to be at a guard post.
They’re just soldiers standing by. In that situation there’s no need for a uniform display to impress anyone. Keeping soldiers at drill precision 100% all thetime is a good way to fatigue soldiers who don’t need to be perfect quickly.
Besides which, all of them have a hand near their trigger guards and most have hands resting on the barrel of their weapons so are reasonably prepared if someone does try something.
It’s not about keeping them at a certain manual of arms positions to the point it ties them out though. It’s about muscle memory. There’s anywhere from two to four fingers of the right hand on the rifle, with one guy doing a literal finger gun. I’m not measuring each pixel to make sure the hand placement is exact here, just like have roughly the same grip ffs. Also on dude has clamped his hand over the gas tube. Remember what I said about muscle memory? He’s gonna wind up having a bad fucking time when he actually puts rounds though that gun.
Anecdotally, my experience was that not being at 100% all the time meant friends dying.
