The Midtones and Black settings (from the Contrast part in UI settings) bumped up to 100 do give it a kind of Ableton grey look:

From reading a bit on the forum it seems pretty chill so I probably will give it a go.
Only thing is that I am expecting a lot less free time the coming months. And I remember the stress of having to make something everyday from doing similar challenges. But just taking a chill approach and allowing more time between tracks might just work out fine.
For me, since I am still learning the program and have dangerously low hard drive space I did not test the beta yet. Also I think I misunderstood that you could not run it next to the release version. So I will get to try out the goodies for the first time (after I make some space…)
The main thing that stuck with me was the MSEG (multi stage envelope generator) as a new modulator. More modulation options seems good to me and those msegs are vary flexible (you can basically draw whatever shape you want afaik).
Another thing is that there was something to do about the new browser, opinions were divided on whether it is an improvement. Guess I will find out for myself soon.

I might give it a go. Have done similar things in the past, only usually a month max. Also usually after one week I drop off… The last one I did was a week in May, that got me 6 (well actually more, I just did not post more) sketches for in my ‘finish one day’ folder ;)
Only I don’t do traditional songwriting but more electronic production in the DAW. Any of that happening there or is it mostly people with actual instrument skills?
Spotify on mobile and pc. Regular YouTube, mostly dj mixes or tracks that artists release on their channels.
On occasion mp3s via Foobar. Do have some stuff on bandcamp but perpetual lack of hd space keeps me from downloading. And don’t like to use the website for playing.

I hope that NI copies the part of the PA installer where it doesn’t need to open a terminal and be suspicious after an update. I find that so strange. Even considered mailing them about it.
But PA gets the ability to update plugins from NI.
