This essentially. It was an easy voice and more importantly videocall software that was free. There were alternatives for text (ICQ, AIM) which were nice and everyone had them, and voice (Teamspeak, Mumble) which were either not free or you had to host them yourself and neither did Videocalls. So you begrugingly had a skype account too.
Clearly an Australian Cattlecat.
make it easier to understand people with really thick accents
I feel like people with thick accents will not be understood by the Speech model either
As an Austrian I completely agree with you… but at the same time a sad chuckle escaped my throat.
We all know they won’t.
I wish I could claim autorship, but it was originally from, I belive, a Tumblr post.
The Dildo of consequences rarely arrives lubed.
Unbothered. Moisturized. Happy. In My Lane. Focused. Flourishing.
As we say here: “A bisserl schwund is imma.” Translation: “There is always a little bit of loss.”
You say that but remarkably few of us died and in retrospect I wonder how.
It’s either my broken self or a symptom of the time that I cannot tell if this is a honest question. I hope it isn’t.
Just in case: It’s not a real thing. Yet.
Hmmm… A ruler that is anything but straight?
But you realize that it’s wrong on both counts, right?
Strawberry has three Rs or two Rs in the wrong spelling.
You know as someone so far removed from kernel development as I am I have to say that Rust devs are the most annoying fanboys there are and ngl if this kills R4L I won’t even notice aside from those drama threads dissappearing. Just write your own Kernel in Rust if you must. With Blackjack and Hookers.
MagicWheel, pressure sensitive… a.k.a. Buttons
That is true, but sadly the only CAD (besides the very limited Tinkercad) that works under Linux without costing a Kidney
Well I had my knee high socks in the wash that day…
You’ll laugh but FreeCAD did this exact thing to me on Arch and even worse it did not only associate itself with 3D files, it associated itself with everything that did not have a default set.
Weird Video format? FreeCAD.
Text file with weird file extension? FreeCAD.
Binary File? FreeCAD!
Old big EMCO lathes had phenolic gears in their gearbox. I know because I got to rebuild one and that was one surprise I came actross and that day I learned about phenolic gears.
Probably also useful as a safety shear point. Better to grind a phenolic gear to dust that to break something expensive.
Also I will never forget the smell of the gear oil.
