That’s why bikelaw and cyclists prefer the word collision. This isn’t just an oopsie.
This is actually not the first year it’s been demoed. Last year it was just a proof of concept. It will take time to work the bugs out.
I grew up backpacking those woods. December is dangerous even for experienced outdoorsmen. I’m going to guess they were not dressed appropriately, and didn’t have any means of navigation outside of cell phones. There is zero cell service in the area. It’s very easy to get turned around even with navigation there.
Be prepared and know what you’re getting into before you go off the grid folks.
Good discussion. I personally feel we need a US instance physically hosted in a neutral location.
I’d do it myself if I had the time. Reality is I can’t consistently make that time commitment. I’d be happy to throw my hat in the ring for setup/config/monitoring initialization.
I agree with your sentiment… But . world isn’t located in the US. I understand why mods wouldn’t want to get tangled up in our mess and bring home a whole heap of trouble to their doorstep for being nothing but gracious hosts.
This is a uniquely American problem that requires an American solution.
Didn’t even have to open the link to know it was red star. I’ve heard rumors of others as well.
Don’t check out the violin family… They don’t have sound holes, they have F- holes.

I’m forced to use it at work. It’s the worst because it has so many limitations and performance issues. I’m not satisfied because it’s assumed to be an equivalent and it’s not.
Judging from the fact that Oregon, Washington and Colorado are not seeing deaths reduced my thought is no.
But it should still happen.
Fuck you, pay me.
I’d personally take the T series over the L series. I personally have a T430 that’s still kicking around. T series are business-grade laptops and tend to be more durable.
Question - what do you do when the site is hacked and your biometrics are compromised? Issue new ones?
I’ve been assuming this was going to happen since it’s been haphazardly implemented across the web. Are people just now realizing it?
I’m all fairness, nobody should be using fuming nitric acid unless absolutely necessary.
At least you didn’t catch on fire. It likes to do that too.
They literally have manufacturing facilities in the US as well due to the IBM acquisition. This article seems to gloss over the reality of them being globally diverse for a while.
HP and Dell manufacture more in PRC.
