it’s not - Homeworld Cataclysm is available on GOG as Homeworld Emergence. something about Blizzard trademarking Cataclysm -
“As for the new title, that’s a precautionary move. “‘Cataclysm’ is now a registered trademark of Blizzard Entertainment, Inc., and the game has been renamed to avoid confusion,” GOG said.” - https://www.pcgamer.com/gog-brings-17-year-old-homeworld-expansion-cataclysm-back-from-the-dead/
Vivaldi would be my recommendation.
funny you mention that, writing the script actually crossed my mind!
thats for the default landing page: All, Subscriptions, Favorites, and Moderated. I’m looking to extend this functionality to be able to browse by newest as opposed to hot for this setting. its only a click away but, i dont know i guess i’m lazy.
the beauty of federation, you’ll find us in the weirdest places XD
good to see you, keep on carrying on friend
wouldn’t you know it, look who i found…
i went back to school. just got my degree about 2 months ago. heading back got me the job i have now.
it got better toward the end. when the Flood finally arrive. coming off of Fall of Reach, the tone just felt different… i get its the first game but, i don’t know it read very action movie-ish in some sections, lacking depth here and there. i’m more excited to get back to Eric Nylund’s books lol
I’m just about to finish Halo: The Flood and move onto either Halo: First Strike or The Last Wish (since the new Witcher season is coming up).
what’s Reddit?
thanks for the tips.

i have noticed… different authors if i remember correctly off the top of my head. The Flood being based on Halo CE (or vice versa? not really sure) gives it more of an “action movie on the page” kind of feel to me.
i’ve started the Halo books. i finished Fall of Reach a couple of weeks ago and am onto The Flood. i’ve also dipped my toes into the Dune series and also the Witcher series, beginning with The Last Wish. in high school i read a book every other day and slowly tapered off as i went from reading for pleasure to reading for work as i became a Lit major in college. it skewed my love for books in a big way and i am trying to get back to reading for fun.
i get mine from Ars, The Register, The Verge, NPR, and Computerworld so far.
using a controller with BG3 actually feels really good. you can also adjust the zoom so you are more in a third person view as opposed to isometric (nearly over the shoulder camera). you can also play the game real-time with pause, which may or may not help push you along as you say you don’t necessarily jive with turn-based.
i hope these things help you get into BG3. i personally LOVE isometric view and turn-based tactics but even if these things don’t appeal to you, the game itself is such a breath of fresh air that i do not see myself putting it down for a long, long time.
have fun!!
