This really smells like something that directly stems from Trump Putin talks. Trump is basically going to come up with a shitty deal for Ukraine, and then try to strong-arm Europe and Ukraine into going along with it. This is just a way of saying " hey Europe, this can affect you too! You should totally pressure Ukraine into taking this shitty deal… cuz you wouldn’t want something bad to happen, right? (Hint hint)"

I kind of think this was intentional, because the picture everyone used before this was the dorky one of him jumping at the Trump rally. I’m sure he prefers this one.

I’m honestly surprised that the Congress isn’t flipping their shit over this. I know the Republicans are trump lap dogs, but this directly undermines their authority and sets a new norm on effective power. I expected more self preservation from those cowards.

Nah. It’s a form of economics that rewards supply following demand. I’m pretty lefty liberal and I’m 100% in favor of fair capitalism. For most things.

Capitalism is just a machine, a system, and I fully believe in intelligence and hard work being rewarded over sitting on your couch playing video games. Capitalism also requires a well regulated system, progressive taxes, safety nets,etc. There are also some areas where capitalism doesn’t work and another system should be used, such as health care, police, fire, etc.

However the idea that capitalism is right wing is bullshit. Maybe uncontrolled capitalism is right wing, but I take strong issue with the most effective economic system in the world being considered “right wing”, it’s not.

So from the conservative viewpoint, what is the rationale for the tariffs? Are people really supposed to believe it has something to do with fentanyl? Like do conservatives actually believe that or is there some other narrative besides Donald Trump is looking to flex his power?
