3 days agoI live in a place where the taxes work the way the guy on the sign wishes they did. It breaks housing. Basically the budget gets balanced exclusively on the backs of new buyers of homes.
Your neighbor that bought their house 30 years ago pays less than 1/10 of what you do for the same house in the same neighborhood getting the same services. It makes it punishing to move in the same city because even if you move into a similar property your tax bill explodes. People stay put instead of moving near to a new job making the roads clogged.
They are hurting (some of) the right people
