Apple would be looking at a fine of over $35 billion. To put that into perspective, that is equivalent to half of Apple’s iPhone sales evaporating instantly.
Now that’s pretty spicy! I’m glad something is finally being done to try and break up the iron grip these companies have on the world. Shame it’s happening at such a glacial pace though
The EC expects its investigations to conclude within 12 months.
The point should be to bring everyone up, not pull others down, though
I’ve not heard about this. Does anyone have a link to share? Can’t find one myself
What do you mean with “went to bed”?
This was a well written and interesting piece from someone who knows about the subject matter. What a refreshing piece of content. Thank you for sharing
Organic maps is great, but falls down when you’re searching for local businesses
There’s infinity? I can’t find it in fdroid. Is it play store only?
This is it. How to do bring super powers to a group of nations and tell them they’ll have the same voice as tiny countries. Why would they bother showing up?
The world has changed since then, though. I dont think it makes much sense anymore to have France and the UK as permanent members though. Even Russia has shown itself to be more of a minnow than we thought…
Especially given the fact that France tried talking Russia out of invading before the war and they still went ahead with it. So it’s not like the security council sat around and watched it happen.
Memory is not storage, so you would need to be logging what’s in memory, I guess. Not impossible, but also not trivial either.
Honestly I’m not sure how it could be done, but I’m sure it’s possible
This is possibly what’s happening. So a VPN is the only way to bypass this? That’s rather annoying.
Might look into getting a local sim
Main language is set to English
Main language is English, and I’m running calyxos, so if any os can change it, this one must be able to

Chat apps are only part of it. It will force iOS and android to offer competing app market too.
The bridges need to decrypt your messages before encrypting them again to send them to you. This is done in memory, so it’s not impossible for your messages to be read by beeper, but quite difficult.
That said, self hosting will always be a safer option. It’s just not for everyone
The EU is forcing the big chat companies to open their gates. They have until April of next year to comply, so we might see a common protocol for chat pretty soon
Neither do I
Ubuntu… But I just realised I’ve been ransomwared.
Guess I’m spending my Monday recovering from backups. Fun fun fun!
