  • Alright man, so you are making crap arguments while cherry picking the parts of my comment you are responding to.

You don’t need to be a congressional historian to understand why the Democrats haven’t ended Citizens United. The real answer comes down to money and lobbying influencing their politics, as well as the filibuster stopping them the few times they have tried, such as when Bernie did in 2014. That would have been an actually valuable point that we could have discussions about.

Instead, you’re too focused on belittling and insulting me to actually make a valid argument.

I could break down and respond to every convenient point in your comment and act like a petty little cunt too, but really it comes down to this

Should the Democrats have been railing about campaign reform at every speech from the moment the SCOTUS inflicted it on us? Yes. Yes they should.

This is pretty much my whole point.

  • So there is definitely more to it as plenty of people have already explained, but when it comes to Elon and Rowling they both have personal reasons for their anti-trans beliefs. Rowling was sexually assaulted, and now finds the idea of, in her words, “men pretending to be women” utterly terrifying due to her PTSD, and is seemingly incapable of seeing trans women any other way.

Elon on the other hand went through a bunch of drama bs with his family, he’s got at least one trans kid who has disowned him, and he spiralled out from there, eventually finding a place among the far-right Nazis who have only reinforced his preconceptions about trans people and trans kids.

No idea what the fuck Zuck’s trans villain origin story is though.

I get where you’re coming from, but idk man, it’s not that hard to buy a democratic senator to vote the way you want. I think simply assuming that every corporation is pushing for Republicans, and is targeting Democrat voters is probably a slippery slope, but that said I get that in the US corpos tend to suck regardless of which side of the isle they have decided to purchase. It’s a shame you didn’t have any more concrete sources though, that kind of claim you made earlier would be fun to throw around if I were able to back it up lol. As it is, personally I doubt that the rising prices are due to anything beyond corporate greed alongside several external factors like bird flu and eggs in CO being required by law now to be cage free.

So I agree that food in the US is 100% run by monopolies. Just look at Tyson. What I’d like a source for though personally, is your claim that these monopolies have “had it in the playbook for thirty years” to punish voters for not voting Republican. That specific part is the aspect that I think you actually need to source. It’s quite a claim.

  • I don’t think it’s about enjoying the content. I don’t filter it because I like having a firm grasp on what is happening politically in the world. As annoying, frustrating, and anxiety inducing as it is, Trump and Musk are two figures that are currently doing everything they can to fuck up our planet and governments so that they can make a few bucks. Yes there is a lot of musk and Trump content, but sticking your head in the sand and hoping it doesn’t effect you until it’s over is probably not the best way to handle it. I haven’t been on Reddit in years, but I recall it being the same situation there during Trump’s first term, there was just a little more non-political content to help dilute it due to the larger user-base.

  • I mean, that’s cool and all, but the meme you posted implies Crassus is the Chad to Elon’s virgin. The implication there being some should aspire to be like Crassus if they are super wealthy. My point here is that humans are generally fucking stupid and impressionable, and most of them just see the surface level image and move on. Memes like this could easily contribute to a developing mind deciding that the Roman oligarchy was super cool and based, introducing them to a gradual slide into fascism… You know, considering how Rome invented the word. I guess what I’m saying is posting something like this just feels irresponsible.

  • Idk man, musk sucks and all, but I don’t know if that’s an adequate excuse to stroke the dick of other disgustingly wealthy individuals who probably did just as much damage, or potentially more, than him. Being from antiquity, who knows what this fucker really got up to? History is written by the victor, and maybe it’d be better to just acknowledge that no one should have this kind of power as a single individual, than to pretend musk only sucks because he’s not based enough to have his own personal army.
