This reminds me of something I read from a British left-wing journalist the other day (source). She suggested that perhaps the left should focus less on identity politics, and more on wealth and class:

By making a virtue of marginalisation, breaking ourselves down into ever smaller and mutually hostile groupings, we make it impossible to build a mass movement capable of taking on extreme concentrations of wealth and power

Fair enough. I don’t think I’m convinced of God’s existence myself. But I think freedom of belief is important - we should be free to believe or not believe in God, because I don’t think anybody knows the answer for certain.

What evidence is there that proves God’s existence?

I assume the 27% are mostly fans of Marine Le Pen and they quite like Donald Trump.

Meta is bad although I would argue that X and Tesla are worse.

Fair point. Maybe I just think the pain of being shot would be less unpleasant than the pain of a botched injection or electrocution.

Evidence? Do you think the US plotted and funded the Crocus City Hall attack for instance?

Would you have preferred to see the West provide nothing to Ukraine and instead just watch Ukraine get taken over by Russia? Perhaps that would have resulted in fewer deaths, but who knows. Russian forces probably would have still killed a lot of Ukrainians, and they would have subjugated Ukrainians, and probably they would have still committed rape and other acts.

Indeed. That’s why I said maybe Ukraine should have been allowed to join NATO years ago. That might have prevented this invasion.

So you think Russia invaded, but then the West used this as an opportunity to harm Russia. Maybe the West wasn’t interested in harming Russia for the sake of harming Russia. Maybe the West just wanted Russia to stop its invasion of Ukraine.

I listened to more of their stuff on YouTube, it’s pretty cool, I can respect the guy’s anger and pissed off attitude.

Apparently France may use its nukes to protect Europe, according to The Telegraph (whether they’re right, I don’t know). Maybe Europe together should develop a joint nuclear weapons program. Then British nukes wouldn’t have to depend on US missiles anymore.

Boris made some pro-EU statements in the past, but then he realised that being anti-EU would give him an opportunity to become prime minister. So he took that opportunity to put his career ambitions ahead of the country’s interests.

Yeah true, if Britain joins the EU again the terms will probably be worse, which just makes Britain rejoining even more unlikely for the foreseeable future.

I don’t think it’s just Putin which is why I mentioned the megalomania of other Russian elites. But Putin surely made the final decision to invade.

I didn’t say Russian only lies. I said Russia “has lied about pretty much everything for a long time”. That is not the same thing.

I’m not just assuming the opposite of Russia’s statements. I’m drawing a best guess conclusion based on two premises:

• Russia has a history of lying about its true intentions and actions
• Russian oligarchs and elites would absolutely be interested in mineral wealth, given their history of megalomania

I think it’s likely that mineral wealth would have been part of the Kremlin’s motivation to invade. Along with general megalomania and irredentism.

Maybe the primary cause was Putin’s megalomania, or indeed megalomania among quite a few Russian elites.

Occam’s razor would dictate that Russia is probably lying if they say they’re not interested in Ukrainian minerals, given that the Kremlin has lied about pretty much everything for a long time.

Putin is even saying he wants to sell minerals from Russian-occupied Ukraine to the US. Clearly he wants to profit from minerals in Ukraine.
