If you want to understand it more at an electoral level even though as Marxists we reject these terms, the 2016 election showed that Republicans are likely to lose presidential elections in perpetuity due to the dying white Boomer demographic. Young latinos (especially Mexicans and Puertoricans) have been shifting towards a progressive view. The fear existed that Republicans might have to become more moderate. Jeb Bush was that plan, but they had two alternatives Ted Cruz for attempting a right-ward shift and Trump for a hyper-right turn. I don’t think the GOP even expected the Trump style to catch on but it has. Now even most Democrats are to the right of Mitt Romney on immigration which is obvious (to us) but sad.

The idea of a blanket amnesty is over, which Biden very much has the authority to grant but WON’T because his corporate interests far outweigh his electoral ambitions.

The only pro I see is its tendency to be accepting or at least ambivalent towards transpeople, even 4chan (outside of /pol/) seems to be more accepting towards trans than their political opinions of everything else.

They’re already acquiescing, look at how fast Democrats went from saying Trump’s ICE/Border Patrol facilities were concentration camps to actually voting and supporting the absolute most right-wing immigration policy in recent history… and REPUBLICANS had to vote it down because Trump wants to use “illegal immigration” as a boogeyman in the 2024 election. And we already have Genocide Joe say he’s “stronger on immigration, actually” than Trump. You can’t rely on Democrats for any strong action.

The book, even though it’s liberal, It Came from Something Awful makes a great point about how the “alt-right”… or fascism, just funnels anti-establishment sentiment given that liberals are content as positioning themselves as the “norm” and foolishly believe “the system” will protect them. They honestly believe that if Trump actually starts to become a dictator that the military leadership will turn against the far-right and fight on the left-facing side, that’s literally never happened in all of history. Whenever these maniacs outwardly announce their desires for civil war, liberals think the police and military will be the ones fighting the conservatives for their side. The actual left in the West has been pathetic at trying to reach out to the disaffected rural and small ex-manufacturing town poor population fucked over by capitalism but aren’t aware of it and are charmed by fascist charlatans because even dumb racist, sexist, homophobic explanations for their problems is better than absolutely nothing.

Look how MSNBC and the NYT squirm trying to convince an American population that never recovered from from the Great Recession nor the pandemic and are told to say they’re dumb, and to “look at GDP, it’s never been higher!” Even if so much of that is artificial trillions of dollars authorized to be printed by the Federal Reserve because NMT proves that any nation with a sovereign currency can’t actually spend their way into inflation.

If it’s politically expedient, Biden will not hesitate at all to throw you and your buddies to the wolves and then the NYT will have a front page story about how certain LGBTQ+ rights weren’t that important anyways.

I’m convinced it would still be better than Biden because at least the media will be attacking Trump for it instead of carrying water for Genocide Joe, and it will be okay in cultural liberalism to fight back. I’m old enough to remember the anti-war movement of the W era dying almost immediately the moment Obama got elected President.

I’m a bit of a sinoboo, but the PRC’s response to this genocide has been severely lacking. You’d think they’d be using this as a clear sign that the US cannot be trusted with so much power. Although it might also be because they know that China openly supporting something turns even “progressive” Western liberals against it.
