Money probably really doesn’t make you happy. Most of the things that make me happy have nothing to do with me being able to buy crap I don’t need.

But that dumb sentiment hides the fact that a lack of money can definitely make you miserable.

Only people that never had stress over dentist of vet bills say that money isn’t a massive factor in determining your quality of life.

Yeah. For single parents and such maybe. But mostly I want to get back to where you can just live off of one FT income so this whole problem doesn’t exist. Would also help with the collapsing birthrate.

This gives me the same vibe as all those “feelgood” stories about communities coming together to pay for some valued member’s back surgery or something.

It’s nice people do that, but how is it that we have so much wealth going around, and yet extremely basic things like healthcare are still factors people need to concern themselves with being able to afford.

We need to normalize banning politicians caught with their pants on fire.

Nobody that is even vagualy familiair with how internet works knows Elon can’t know where the attack is coming from. Cirtainly not so quickly.

Even if somebody only leveraged their botnet in Ukraine it could be his next door neighbour beeing the actual puppetmaster.

But ofcourse the people to whom he is Jesus himself will just gobble that conjecture up like it’s mama’s paella.

So we can add “illegal” to the list of words Trump uses but doesn’t know the meaning of.

The best option here is to just tank Chrome’s market share instead of making something that’s obviously not ideal, work.

This is a sentiment that is just generally garnering traction in Europe as a whole I think.

I don’t even think it’s about hurting the US/Trump as much as people just have a renewed interest to support “local” business as a result of recent events.

I pump the brakes with the swearing if I’m around kids, complete strangers, or people I know really take offense to it, i’m honestly not trying to be rude on purpose.

But other than that, no. I swear a lot and have no intention to lessen that. It’s an excellent coping mechanism for stress and it doesn’t hurt anybody or, in fact, anything.

Replacing it with things like “what the cluck” would only add to the anger I feel in the moment because I think that’s horribly cringe.

Cyberpunk (and Witcher 3) already runs, and honestly way better then I expected, on my steam deck. They even have a specific graphics setting to accommodate for it’s obviously limited hardware, so CDPR are also aware people play their games on the steam deck as evidenced by this graphics setting.

Steamdeck is linux. Obviously this proton translation layer that is being leveraged is very capable.

For all intents and purposeses, CDPR is already where they need to be for half-decent Linux support and honestly I don’t understand why they didn’t already draw that last sprint that would be required to fully support this.

The problem with companies like for example Adobe over let’s say DeWalt is that they actually have a pretty strong grip on it’s target market.

If there was only one company that made tools to build houses i’m sure eventually they’d try to pull the same crap if they could get away with it.

You can totally see the same kind of walled garden thinking in things like battery platforms for powertools. Most people buy into a brand and never go elsewhere but there’s litterally zero technical purpose behind this other then toolmakers going through lengths making their batteries only fit their tools.

Yeah. People in a manual definately don’t ever do that.

It doesn’t free up time no but it does make driving ever so slightly less involved.

Controls on a drill have a clear practical purpose, and to my knowledge they don’t make them that do that automatically in a reasonable price range. I would totally buy that if they did. ;-)

You’ll never catch me doing something that can be automated away, this includes shifting gears in a car.

But a car is just a tool to me, like a cordless drill, so i’m sure I don’t get it.
