I can’t really assure there isn’t a political aim as you are trying to stick to, there are a multiple cartels, each one follows a different ideology, some are even more similar to a cult than others… and the current party in power is guided by/as a cult with the help of the narcos, so maybe in the past we couldn’t call them terrorists by sticking to the no political ideology part, but as they are right now… yeah… I wouldn’t doubt they are trying to help the current administration to advance a centralist goverment so they can get full control of the country or something like that.

Like… I don’t know why are you so adamant, but just taking a quick look on Wikipedia and re-reading the first parts, they tick the boxes, even if you say they don’t have an ideology as is, they still commit violence with the intention of shaping the enviroment to their liking and to impose their not ideology into the civilians or force the hand of the goverment… which already falls under the definition of terrorism.
Then again, the article says there’s no consensus on the definition, which seems to be the case here:

• I live here, I’ve seen these acts, I’ve personally seen (if only a minimal part) how it controls the life of the people, how it controls the political enviroment and how it forces things to go their way in every aspect; I wouldn’t doubt labeling them as terrorists.
• You don’t want to label them as such only because you believe they don’t have a political ideology (even when I tell you they are already involved in shaping the country to their liking and beliefs).

And just to reiterate, I don’t feel safe knowing it’s president musk and first lady trump who will be managing that, because they are just going to abuse it and make us miserables… more than usual. Under a different administration, I could see the benefit in doing so as our goverment doesn’t care about changing things for the better unless they are forced by a stronger entity, but right now I should be kissing my ass goodbye if they decide to mimic their boss putin.

Reminder the past administration dismantled the public vaccination program, instated a half-assed version that allowed them to pocket the money and gave control to the military, during covid they didn’t want to apply vaccines until they were forced to, but only wanted to apply sputnik and cansino, until they were forced again to buy real ones, up to date and not expired ones (and that only lasted a while).

The current president (during her time as governor) experimented using ivermectin without the patient’s consent, she gave her full support during the expresident’s antivaxx crusade, she (now president) swore to keep the current system going and refuses to buy more covid vaccines, they are still applying outdated and (most likely) expired ones (sputnik and abdala), if you want to get one up to date, you have to pay around 900MXN and it’s hard to find (already got mine but sheesh…).
The official mandate is to not talk about covid again on the media and the sick ones to be told they have atypical pneumonia or something, but the goverment swears the covid is no more.

So much this… Her cult leader/puppeteer is basically owned by them, her whole party depends on them while also having some of them as members… And she is keeping in place the same policies that keep the militia from going against the cartels while weakening the constitution.

I really really doubt the part about the content based on my interests part, I’ve tried Lemmy, Mastodon and Pixelfed, none of the has any content that I care about enough to join a community but they have way too much US politics (WAY TOO MUCH), so it really doesn’t encourages me to try anything new on the fediverse (like Loops, picking an instance, creating user just to find no content for me?).
I’d like to know how good or bad the instance block works on PieFed, because here on lemmy I still see hexbear posts that other users crosspost, even when my instance already defederated that instance.

Why not use both Lemmy and another platform?

Already am, but at least on Reddit the mods can pretend to ban/control the propaganda accounts, but over here they are the only ones posting content (for my country) and that’s tiring… the rest of the content is the same here and Reddit, so I feel more inclined to stay on Reddit since I don’t really post anything anyway (I don’t even comment over there anymore) and Lemmy feels like something I rather delete more and more… been thinking about PieFed, but the same problem as everything Fediverse, I have to pick a goddamn instance and I don’t have energy for that for now.

You tell that to a normal user (and I mean NORMAL) and they will lose any interests in making the effort of attempting to pick a server… I know it sounds far fetched, but that’s my experience with normal users, unless they have someone willing to hold their hand at every moment and every change, all these things scare them, no matter how simple they seem for us.

Yeah but you have to see it through the normal-user eyes, for them just creating a new account is a whole ordeal, then they see that ordeal makes them investigate the server before picking and then it turns out they picked wrong… For them that’s that and they delete the app (never deleting the account, mind you), branding the whole lemmy experience under whatever server they picked first.

If there was some sort of… Quiz? That could help them pick… But a brutally honest one, since some instances have pretty extremists opinions, new users have to know what they are dealing with.

This, the survivor bias is absurdly high around lemmy.
This is my fourth instance because, for some reason, it’s extremely hard to find an instance that defeds the 3 main propaganda instances, allows porn/hentai, piracy talk, weed and isn’t too pissy about downvotes.

Still I am thinking about leaving lemmy due to a complete lack of content for my country other than government propaganda… And I don’t feel comfortable creating a community for the same reason and there doesn’t seem to be anyone else from my country so… Nobody who cared about it (or who could help me mod).

Yeah also the blocking instances capabilities on Lemmy are a fucking joke
Block an instance at user level? You still have to deal with their users and you see crossposts
Defederate an instance? You still see their crossposts if someone from another instance does it
What part of that counts as blocking? It should be as nuclear as possible, that’s what blocking is for, because someone doesn’t want anything to do with them.

Also I know Lemmy is not private, but not being able to completely delete posts/comments still irks me.
