Yeah, mostly because of the entire tech industry for the last decade. I’ve gad every ounce of trust incinerated.

Oh, I think they’re communicating just fine. They’re signalling the direction they plan to take and it’s not a good one.
Honestly, if I were designing active guitar gear, I might just try to push 24v phantom power and XLR cables. Have a little power box at the amp or pedalboard and ditch the onboard battery entirely.
But I loathe alkaline batteries…
Let me put it a different way: your premise was that a level of precision with less than 10ms of variance is necessary. I’m saying that much of the library of recorded music demonstrates that this is not the case.
If your premise is simply, “I’d like to be more precise with my timing,” then by all means. It sounds like you’re already doing the right thing though: lots of practice with a click track. There’s not really a shortcut to forcing your synapses to fire with that level of precision, you just have to keep doing it.
There’s an old joke about someone in New York asking for directions… “How do you get to the Met?” “Practice”
“10ms is barely acceptable” 🤣 I’m sorry, but that’s the funniest thing I’ve read so far today. Do you realize how little of the music you hear on a daily basis meets that criteria?
I mean, yeah obviously, but the kind of person I’m talking about isn’t going to listen to me telling them why they shouldn’t. Given that, the best we can hope for is not talking about it.
Unfortunately, yes, just like any other niche. I have distanced myself from a few musician friends because they absolutely cannot resist injecting incredibly toxic politics into every aspect of their lives. Vote for whoever you want, but every conversation is not an invitation to blather on about the talking points of the week.
I had tried FC a few times previously, and wasn’t able to make it work for me, but I’m actively using the newest release candidate now. I think it’s finally over the hump where a lot more people are going to start adopting it. That should fuel continued development.
Yeah, it’s a real shame that Amazon is poisoning the section of the market that GC had already poisoned for the independent guitar shops. Best of luck finding a new section of the market to destroy though…
