It’s rarely two 9-5 M-F jobs that add up to 40 hours a week.

It’s usually a combination of a primary job that is just below the threshold of full time and therefore doesn’t qualify for basic benefits like health insurance, paid time off, or retirement <32 hours.

Usually the second job is in the evening and weekends. Service jobs, retail, etc. Often the schedule varies wildly and changes often.

Typically both jobs are paid hourly and can end at any time.

A lot of people work much more than 40 hours per week, but don’t have the security of a full time, salaried job.

Having lived in NYC, I completely agree, but Boston would like to have a word.

I was craving the clarity and forward thinking that the MTA has compared to the MBTA.

I remember being outraged by that. I went to protests with people who were also outraged by that.

It was a driver for me to go out and find what little media was outraged about it, too, which at the time was Maddow and Majority Report.

Hearing that the Democrats are using the same argument is shocking, because it was plain as day that was not even an argument based on reality. The whole time I thought those people in the media shared that same understanding of reality. Apparently not.

CIA leaker caught with no known motive.

The same day, an Air Force Reservist was sentenced for leaking to impress friends online.

CIA guy leaked specific information about the strike and nothing else.

Commander Cosplay leaked a bunch of random stuff he thought would get him a date.

The motives for Rahman’s alleged leaks weren’t immediately clear.

I was also confused at the end and had to reread it a couple of times. The “author” was piggybacking off the second-to-last paragraph.

As a former copywriter, the thought that news editors are allowed to write this way and claim it’s both readable, and in accordance with vernacular grammar style, makes me irrationally angry.
