Just curious, are we sure the numbers reported are “net gain” and not “number of new subscribers”? Distinction being “number of new subscribers” would be all the people that signed up, and “net gain” would be all the people that signed up & subtract those that canceled?

Earnings reports are always full of word tricks to paint the prettiest picture so I’m just curious if we know the net number?

For example, all those articles that came out a week after the change went into effect were bullshit bc they didn’t take into account people who canceled and still had days left til their end of month, instead they only captured the 3 days after the policy change and Netflix got all the media to report this awesome stat for them.

Man, I wish I could say the same about medical device professionals. I left this job but I was a sr engineer under a manager who has been working in med devices for 30+ years.

Back when the whole hydroxychloroquine thing was being spouted by Trump, manager who has TONS of experience about why the FDA does testing and safety testing in medicine, would regularly tell us that we should demand our doctors give us hydroxychloroquine and we should take it along with multiple vitamin D pills a day, etc. he would tell us how he’d NEVER been sick despite us all knowing he was the type who came in constantly with a cough/sneeze fit.

He also had a bunch of idiotic takes on the 2016 election (I escaped before getting to hear his 2020 versions).

He was a shitty manager but the FDA thing was the one area where I was like “damn you’re even idiotic in our area of expertise”. He wasn’t the only one there who was a MAGA dope either unfortunately

I still wear a mask but its the fact that others don’t think logically about this stuff still that has me most up in arms. Dad has been sick since weekend, mom says I’m going to come over to your house to see her grandkids. Mom comes over and 4 hours later they call me to tell me they both have covid and tested positive. Think from their perspective - Osimhen led the club to their first Serie A title since 1990 and led them further in the Champions League than ever before. What’s the price tag for that type of club success? Selling him for 100m gets you like 2, maybe 3 solid players but you’re still likely short of his goal production.

As an example- Jack Grealish and Villa. They bought Ings, Bailey, and Buendia with the 100mil and none of those 3 have been worth a damn really and Ings was already sold off at a loss. Recruitment is hard and when you have a bonafide star and he’s not actively asking to be transferred, put whatever damn price he’s actually worth to you on his head versus what all the big clubs want to actually pay. There’s zero obligation that you HAVE to sell to bigger clubs.

fwiw though - i saw their new contract they’re offering him has a 160mil release clause, not 180
