Might push to run Sway + XFCE on my laptop, opposed to i3 + XFCE
First I heard of this (but then, I’m stuck on outdated GPU so no Wayland for me T~T)
Flameshot, I use it everywhere and it works everywhere
Its a good moment to plug the Servo project: https://servo.org/
It is it’s own Web Renderer, independent of any other(eg. Gecko/Blink) Once it matures enough to be daily drivable, I’m planning on making a PoC web browser with it
tape, and worst case scenario: a hammer
Talking by experience, the one distro that let me just install it, then use my computer without to care about what distro it was using, was Fedora Specifically the XFCE spin
It’s my plan! I’m thinking on getting a RX 580 Sadly I’m stuck onto a country with a worthless money, and even a 10 years old graphics card, costs more than my rent
Yeah, it should! If it was a supported graphics card The GT 710 relies on the nvidia-470 driver as the newest supported one. Anything newer and it just doesn’t run

Xenia! My beloved
They day I leave X11!.. Is the day I buy a decent graphics card Seriously my GT 710 is suffering
Self-hostable servers, this way if their datacenters go down, game is still playable
Better go with MySQL to ensure foreign keys comstrains
Not gonna lie, I support both SteamOS provides a “plug and play” almost windows-like experience for end users. It isn’t technical, which makes perfect for the average “I just wanna game and sometimes do other stuff like YouTube”
While Bazzite actually gives you more flexibility for when you still do Gaming but focuses on other stuff(eg. Coding, GameDev, work stuff, etc) Bazzite fills in a important gap that SteamOS leaves behind and, actually benefits SteamOS for not needing to cover that spot
Dunno, asked my 4 years old brother for 10 random numbers between 0 and 100 throughout a whole week, most of them were 6, 28 and 50 Funnily enough, there were only 1 number above 50, which was 52… I guess he figured out he was saying too much 50
Does neytirix knows her art is being used for commercial purposes? Is there authorization for such?
Not everyone approves of it, not everyone likes it, and if you do have a Nvidia GPU, you might want to skip Alpine
But it is a good distro, small to the point you can easily memorize every part of the system and how things click together
OpenRC in it, as everything else, does the bare basic. RC only runs and manages your services and that’s it. It doesn’t try to be your DNS provider, it doesn’t try to be your logs manager, it only deals with the services(which are bash scripts btw), and that’s it
I rock Alpine with XFCE4 and Pipewire, and its the most usable distro I’ve ever had There is also GNOME and KDE, but haven’t tried them
Only main issue with it, is that it uses MUSL instead of GlibC which, makes some softwares not work or must be compiled from source
