Hi everyone! I’m a very avid reader and would love to add more reading people to The StoryGraph. The more friends, the more books I may want to read I’ll see!
Feel free to add me: https://app.thestorygraph.com/profile/amarnareads
Wouldn’t be a bad idea to have a bookclub on the fediverse really.

What did you think of the Children of Time series? I loved the first one, and enjoyed the second though it didn’t capture me as much. Is the third one worth reading (no spoilers)?
I have the ability to listen to whatever I want at work so I hardly ever fail to finish a book unless it’s really not pulling me in.
I wouldn’t go so far as to say it was nowhere near as good as the first two but it certainly was different and not in a way I found interesting. A bit slow to get to the point I guess is how I would say it.
Made me think about sentience more than the first two, though I don’t know if it alone provided enough info to really do anything beyond those initial moments of “huh, I guess that could be the case.”
Thanks for sharing your thoughts :) I’ll give it a go and see what I think. I’ve never not enjoyed any of Tchaikovsky’s books, so I’m sure it’ll still be a good read - I suppose the first book in this series set a very high bar though!
How could we do that?
I believe story graph either has or will have that feature. Or there could be monthly posts on books about it, should someone interested in running it show up.
https://bookwyrm.social/ is what I’ve been using. I’m not an avid tracker though.
I tried thestorygraph, liked the idea but I don’t like my readings to be guided by an algorithm and also I don’t feel like paying for a platform, especially if I’m not using the main feature (the recommendations)
I tried Bookwyrm but I wasn’t a fan of the review style. I like that in TSG you have a checklist with moods that give you an overview of the feelings the book may evoke. So giving my opinion is fast and painless, if I don’t feel like writing a whole review
Fair point lol I don’t find the “discover” feature attractive, so I’ve been using the Openreads app just to keep track of what I’ve read year to year (a great app, by the way!)
Edited to add that maybe different instances of bookwyrm have different ways to review your books? I may be wrong about this, but I think it is worth checking if you really want to try an open alternative.
I did not know about the different instances, will definitely check them up! Thank you
Ping just to see if you found something relevant/interesting! :)
Sure!
