My dad died when I was 9. I didn’t have grandparents or uncles, so never had a relationship with a fatherly figure. I’m a woman in a technical work field, so most older men are either condescending or a little bit too fatherly.

I admit I am very, very jealous of my friends with dads. I won’t tell them that, though :)
