I had cheese put into my food before, but now I was given meat-meat and not only once but twice (different places).
It wasn’t even by people not understanding what veganism is, it was just a very blatant swap.
Sure, I got money back, but I’m wondering: has the acceptance of vegans gone down and malice towards us gone up? I would’ve thought it would’ve gotten better over time.
I’m asking because I’m so far removed from the vegan community I forget I’m vegan because the store being “empty” for me is the norm, as is checking labels etc; I’ve no clue whether other vegans are facing similar issues as of late.
No, I didn’t contact them. It’s extremely clearly intentional to me and I merely won’t give them money again.
I swung by to see a few more times and they still only sell meat-meat one, not even a vegan version and non-vegan version. I don’t get why a vegan place would switch like this, but fuck them.
So, without ever hearing from you, how can you expect your voice to be heard? Why complain to strangers in a void on the Internet.
The business needs to know someone made a mistake or has a malicious employee. You could get your money back, maybe even cupons and free food. They would also know the demand for vegan food.
By you no longer giving them such business, that means there’s that much less demand for the vegan version. Once it dips below a certain amount, it no longer makes sense for them to carry it. You’re not only doing yourself a disservice but, everyone else.
