I’m trying to book a trip this summer to visit my wife’s family, but flights are SO expensive.

I’m aware that I can buy hacked/stolen airline miles on the dark web at a discount, and use those to pay for the flight.

My question is: Is it unethical to buy these miles? Normally, that would seem like an easy, “Yes, it’s unethical,” but…

What happens to the user whose account was hacked? From my experience with airlines, I kinda suspect that once the victim complains, the airline will simply re-issue them more miles. Does anyone know if that’s the case and, If so, is it wrong for me to buy and use these miles?

Thank you Lemmy!

    You’re a monster!

Just kidding, you’re NTA, but you’re definitely not ethical.
