I need to get a second phone for work. I’m set on a galaxy as I’m really interested in dex mode.
How is getting an s22 used these days? Are there any common problems I should be on the lookout for? Also, the battery health in some screenshots shows 32%, etc. does that mean the battery needs to be replaced right away? This will be my first Android.

I am usually more worried about the phone being in some blacklist or not, this has always been one of my issues with the used phone market.
On to your question - 32% battery health seems pretty bad. I just replaced my s22 ultra that I used quite heavily for the last 2 years, it is at 86% battery Healthy.

The S22 has pretty bad battery life already, with 32% battery health on top of that it’d barely make it past breakfast before it runs out of battery, might make it to noon if you don’t use it much
I’d recommend trying to find one above at least 60-65% battery health if possible, unless you’ve found an extremely good price for it. You’ll wanna replace that battery pretty soon if you can if you go with the 32%. If it’s gonna be used plugged in most of the time (can’t remember if you can charge during dex mode or not) then the battery isn’t much of a worry

Does it work the same way as iPhone where the battery is considered failed when it’s under 80%?
The model naturally having worse battery life isn’t a major concern since it’s a work only phone and my main phone will still be the one mostly used. But I still want a decent battery.
Depends for each brand, looks like Samsung currently considers >75% good, 55-75% normal, and <55 as bad, they usually recommend getting it replaced right when it drops below normal, but they’ll still work fine past that just with terrible battery life.
Not sure where their warranties or battery replacement programs stand at, but looks like you can find relatively cheap self-install OEM batteries online for the S22 ($~20 for me, not sure for where you are)

I would have gone newer, but the price is significantly higher for an s23, almost double.
But as long as it has reasonable battery life I’m OK.
I’ll mainly use my iPhone 15 and I’m work from home, so I’ll rarely be away from power while using it.
I’ll search again though, maybe I don’t look hard enough.
