The contents of the Israeli Association of Rape Crisis Center’s paper alleging “systematic” Hamas rape derive largely from discredited second-hand testimonies and debunked media reports. Among its most heavily cited sources is a dubious NY Times article that triggered a staff revolt at the paper.

Is anyone else seeing these stories the last couple of days and bracing for some horrific evidence of

    spoiler

The systematic and intentional rape of Palestinians by Isreali troops and settlers

thats probably like a week from coming out? We know it’s all projection, we know they see Palestinians as “human animals”, we’ve seen the contrast between the chipper umharmed Isreali prisoners and the traumatized wraithlike Palestinians that were released during the prisoner exchange. We’ve seen the piles of bloody body bags in the desert and the reports of organ theft. It’s clear which side views the other as human beings and which side does not, howthe fuck are they gonna expect us to believe that akshually Hamas are the rapists, other than just banking on racism?

Media bias / fact check for The Grayzone:

Overall, we rate The Grayzone Far-Left Biased and Questionable based on the promotion of propaganda, conspiracy theories, and consistent one-sided reporting.

I don’t get the point of these arguments; people came across a border and opened fire on any person they saw! Just because they didn’t rape every single one of them as well does not make it any better.

This is incorrect. The Palestinian fighters refrained from attacking Israeli civilians when they were able to. In many cases they did not do any harm to the Israeli civilians they interacted with and we’re in fact courteous towards them. They targeted military and police instead. A currently unknown portion of the deaths of israeli civilians on 7/10 was from Israeli fire. Witnesses and available evidence indicate that Israeli infantry, tanks, and helicopters fired indiscriminately at civilians, militants, and homes with occupants. Israel refuses to investigate its forces’ acts on 7/10 and destroyed and buried evidence (bombed cars).

What do you think that video shows? It does not show Palestinian fighters shooting civilians indiscriminately. It does show a scene of the aftermath of israeli fire on its own civilians’ vehicles. It does not show Palestinian fighters doing anything outside of their legal rights.

In order to justify the Genocide you need to completely dehumanize Palestinians. That is the purpose of this propaganda. The same propaganda tactic has been used before.

In this case, it might also be a good call because of the source

I’d prefer some other agency reported the story given Grayzone’s track record

Blegh every war is a crime. I don’t know if there has ever been a war that didn’t involve rape. Even the allies in WWII (“a just war”) were infamous for that, both in the European and Pacific theaters. So it’s not surprising now.

But yes, any Hamas who commit atrocities, may they burn in hell if there is such a place. Same as IDF and settlers who do so.
