Saw someone mention it in the weekly thread, found interesting to post something that is good instead of the usual bad stuff

I love this show, but I do believe the story is a bit weaker toward the end of the season. I don’t want to post spoilers, but some injuries should not be so easily shrugged off lol.

The shows fine, but I don’t even know if I’d put it in the top 5 best things Netflix put out in 2023. Maybe best original work (assuming it is?)

I thought it was very good. But cyberpunk from last year was better.

ugh ugh this edgerunner series? that was pure cringe.

based on my opinion about our opinion this new Netflix series might actually be worth the while. /s

If you like a good cyber punk series check out the old series from ~2002ish Ghost in the shell Stand a lone complex. It’s really remarkable.

Does it have a conclusion of sorts for season 1? I’m not interested in getting involved with an ever cliffhanging show that Netflix will cancel before conclusion.

Season one is enjoyable as a package of just itself. There are some ways in which the ending could be seen as cliffhangery, in that season 2 won’t be starting from scratch and some of the characters’ arcs will be continued from what we’ve seen so far in season 1, but that doesn’t feel like a cliffhanger to me, more like natural continuation and new beginnings of sorts. That is to say that I think it’s a narratively satisfying ending that doesn’t require future seasons to be good.

I sympathise with your jadedness. I feel like a lot of Netflix shows end their seasons especially unsatisfyingly, almost as if they’re reasoning “if we wrap things up too nicely, we won’t get another season”, but then they get cancelled anyway. Regardless of season 2, I definitely think Blue Eyed Samurai is worth watching.

If it’s good, Netflix will cancel it halfway through season 2 with no conclusion. I wish this post was sarcasm.
