Yeah, everything that was done to make the death penalty more “humane” has been done to make it more comfortable for the executioners and the public, rather than for the ones being executed.

IIRC the only reason we haven’t brought back gas chambers w/ inert gas as a method of execution is the bad optics.
It’s a better form of execution than lethal injection but death penalty should be reserved for billionaires and fascists post revolution.

If done well nitrogen hypoxia should be like falling asleep and never waking up. If you fuck it up by somehow not removing CO2 fast enough, it feels like suffocating.

Not tested as an execution method, but we do know what happens to people who die of it. Marginally better version of a horrific act that the state shouldn’t be allowed to do in the first place.
