Sometimes a bunch of my hobbies comes together in a project, and it's fun all the way from conceptualizing to pressing "Go" on the final video render. I've always had a fascination for machinima (using game engines to tell stories), enjoy watching lets-play's, think AI/ML is pretty neat though scary and think it's fun editing videos. In this video I'm using AI/ML to replace the player character's voice in the game Cyberpunk 2077 with... My own! Using mods I tweak the gaming-focused interface to be more story-telling friendly, editing several gaming sessions together to create a 50+ minute "episode". Some of the voice-over is recorded straight from the gaming sessions (live commentary) while others are redone or constructed to be able to tell "my"/a story about the character V to viewers. A lot can be lost between the gaming and video medium. Fun fact, my first experience with voice acting is now trying to copy the flatness of an AI that tries to copy me in the style of Gavin Drea. Delightfully surreal. It's styled as an episode of a modern long-form TV-show with an overarching narrative, but it's produced as a one-off practice piece to challenge myself in several fields. As a hobbyist with little experience in all those fields, I think it's pretty OK.
