My first child was born in February.
If you knew about the birds and the bees, you would know that this wasn’t random.
I aced my first university exam. I had very low expectations so I’m unusually happy it turned out this way

I finally moved out on my own and have peace of mind.
I just happened to be in the room when my recruiter got a call from someone looking to fill a vacancy. I have no experience in the industry or anything like it, let alone the qualifications, but have the really basic general skills required. They put me forward anyway. I got the job - it’s basically stress free, great people, decent pay, clear advancement track, extremely low employee turn over and the commute is really short.
Easily the most confused I’ve been getting a job.
We were able to get approved for our 501©3 nonprofit status for our Ferret rescue (making us one of two rescues in a 400 mile radius) and helped 50+ ferret find new forever homes this year. We are projecting to to help nearly 100+ by the end of next year, with no signs of slowing down with the demand in our tri-state community. When completing our tax season, we can start apllying for grants to help grow our rescue. Also, we have grown our local Facebook Ferret community from a modest 25 members starting out to just approving our 647th member this morning. Life is good 😀
I got a grant to do independent research on the AI alignment problem and was able to quit my job.
I got a raise at mŭ job!
Wife and I were granted permanent residency. I didn’t expect us to get it as early as we did, so it was a nice surprise.
In January, I thought I was going to be asked to leave my job. In June they gave me a huge promotion.
