The share of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents who believe that President Joe Biden’s 2020 election win was not legitimate has ticked back up, according to a new CNN poll fielded throughout July. All told, 69% of Republicans and Republican-leaners say Biden’s win was not legitimate, up from 63% earlier this year and through last fall, even as there is no evidence of election fraud that would have altered the outcome of the contest.

How many people do you think would be needed?

It’s less than you imagine. As long as the sampling is random and unbiased, assuming 100 million Republicans, a sample size of 1000 should be enough for a 3% margin of error with a 95% confidence level.

No way man. The average citizen in this country isn’t registered with these types of polls. These are from the same group that write letters to news channels. I think the selection pool was already biased, and this represents an extremely small portion of the population.

They sent them out randomly. The flaw with this poll is same flaw with any polling. Personally anything I receive in the mail that isn’t a bill or a birthday card doesn’t even get opened. It would be nice if they explained more about the sample they collected. Average age, location, gender, political party.

Even if the ones who didn’t reply had replied, and they expressed confidence in the 2020 election results, it’s still a pretty bad look for the GOP.
