One of the most played works of music, but the author Remo Giazotto insists that he merely arranged it based on a yet undiscovered fragment of Albinonis. Someone knows more about this? It’s kind of fascinating that someone who could very likely take credit for a insanely successful piece of music, doesn’t. Did this supposed fragment of an Albinoni bass line turn up at some point?

Yes, the guy could take credit for it, but at the same time he may have thought it would be more successful under Albinoni’s name? Besides, there’s also the “musicological hit” aspect of it: “I unearthed a piece by an old italian baroque master!”

True! It might have never taken off if it wasn’t attached to Albinoni’s name. So from that perspective he really did kill two birds with one stone.
