    Ok, so the article is paywalled. Why couldn’t it be moved? Seems like this should take no more than 30 minutes to get a tow truck there and just move it somewhere that it wasn’t blocking the road.

      The hand brake was locked so they couldn’t push it. It doesn’t say why they couldn’t tow it for 9h.

      Basically, the hand break is electronic instead of mechanical. The result is that if it fully runs out of power, then the hand break can no longer disengage. With a car as heavy as a Tesla (or most electric vehicles), it basically means that it isn’t really going anywhere. Note that the article says that most electric vehicles use electronic hand breaks, so it’s not just a Tesla thing.

        Huh, you’d think almost any tow truck would have a jack and a set of wheel dollies. They use them all the time to move vehicles where the tow points aren’t easily accessible.
