Hmm. Almost like the company doesn’t genuinely care about the users.
Surely that can’t be it.
It truly sucks but what did people expect? A polite message?
After how Reddit handled the API changes, the whole thing with Christian (Apollo developer), don’t expect anything politely, good or nice from Reddit CEO.
However, I’m curious as to why Reddit is doing this, though I know they were planning to change the chat system (something to do with ‘legacy chat’).
I expect them to move chat functionality to the official app. Facebook made a similar move many years ago, and I think they did get increased access to users’ phones that way. Reddit might find it a harder sell, given that they have a totally different role in people’s lives, and (much as I hate to imply anything nice about Facebook), a much less usable app.
Joke’s on them, nobody ever talks to me.
What’s the point? Data is cheap to store, and I’d assume they could sell it if they wanted to
Yeah I just learned that mine is lost too. Annoying…
If you make a data request you may get it in a month
Mine took two weeks
Every day I use Reddit less and move more of this sort of interaction over here. To the extent that I can find communities for my interests, I’m consistently dropping the use of Reddit. It may take some time but I’m no longer a Reddit fan boy.
The jokes on them, I already deleted all my messages and comments before deleting my account.
