This is one of the first songs I have wrote lyrics for. I would play each section and then ad lib the lyrics. I think it sounds a bit cheesy-indie, but that is also what I was going for.
I guess my question is; is the lyrics too cheesy for this track to be taken seriously?
Also, what do you think about the little “Lorde” breakdown around 1:30? does that add to the track at all, or am I just making a fool out of myself?
I honestly loved that. The lyrics are not too cheesy at all. It’s a really fun smoke-along song, and lots of people love those. It’s a totally catchy tune! The talking bit worked well too, I thought. I didn’t know that was a Lorde thing. Anyway, thanks a lot, this is going to be stuck in my head all day now.

Other artists could have done the talking breakdown thing, but Lorde is so amazingly dramatic that she seems to do it in every song xD
